The fine folks at Merriam-Webster have released their LIST OF THE TOP WORDS FOR 2010.

The list is based on the popularity of word searches done on the merriam-webster.com website, as an indicator of how popular the words are in general usage.  Merriam-Webster has found that the more often an unusual word’s definition is searched for on their site, the more prevalent the word happens to be in recent news and event coverage.
