Canada is not just America’s Hat – they’re number one in the world!

O, Canada.

You’re finally number one on the charts.

Because according to a survey by FUTUREBRAND, CANADA IS THE NUMBER ONE BRAND of COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

This is a big surprise, as the 2009 rankings had the US in the number one spot, and they were not expected to lose position.

For comparison purposes, the Top Ten Country brands in 2009 were:

1. USA
2. Canada
3. Australia
4. New Zealand
5. France
6. Italy
7. Japan
8. UK
9. Germany
10. Spain

In the 2010 rankings, we already know Canada was number one.  Here’s how other countries ranked:

For those keeping count, the three countries with the worst branding were Zimbabwe, Iran, and Pakistan.

The survey is based on a survey of over 3,000 travelers, who were asked their opinion on a country’s tourism appeal, quality of life, and overall value systems.
