April is National STD Awareness Month

What You Should Know About STDs
What You Should Know About STDs

APRIL is STD AWARENESS MONTH, according to the American Social Health Association, the CDC, and Your STD Health.

Why the need for a whole month dedicated to STD awareness?  Because not everyone thinks that STDs can happen to them. But it could…

In a study from 2009:

  • 44,000 people had contracted syphilis
  • 20% of those surveyed had genital herpes
  • 80% had some form of oral herpes

So yeah, it’s not an April Fools joke – STDs are serious for all involved.  So click through the link for more information, and things that you can do to help raise awareness for gonorrhea, chlamydia, HPV, and other sexually transmitted diseases that you (hopefully won’t) run across.
