July 4-10, 2011 is NATIONAL NUDE RECREATION WEEK, according to the American Association for Nude Recreation.

So who is the AANR?  It’s only a group of 200,000+ people who just like being naked; they find nothing wrong or ashamed about the human body, and don’t mind sitting around in the buff with other like-minded folks.

We knew you would ask – the AANR’s headquarters are in Kissimmee, Florida — just a few minutes away from Walt Disney World. Coincidence? We think not.

So what will you do to celebrate National Nude Recreation Week?

Just do the same thing you would do normally — but put the word “naked” in front of it.

Naked volleyball. Naked putt-putt. Naked frisbee.

Naked swimming. Naked nature hikes. Naked bike rides

But no naked cooking – grease splatters do hurt.  And active sports like tennis may require a little bit more support than more sedate choices. Nudists aren’t stupid – they don’t have to do everything naked, they just like to choose when to do so.

Here are two partial lists we found of CELEBRITY NUDISTS – or, at the very least, celebrities who’d been known to skinny-dip or garden naked on occasion:

  • Benjamin Franklin
  • Alexander Graham Bell
  • John F Kennedy
  • Amy Grant
  • Dr Seuss
  • Christy Brinkley
  • Lynn Redgrave
  • Drew Barrymore
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • Christina Aguilera
  • Shakira
  • Alicia Silverstone
  • Alyssa Milano
  • Daryl Hannah
