Check out these Olympic Butts!

Everybody knows why NBC has chosen to air what they are airing in their primetime coverage of the Olympics.

Sure, it may all be tape-delayed, but that doesn’t detract from the sheer spectacle of the sport.  Web Watch has been watching NBC’s coverage almost non-stop since the Games began, and even though we know (what seems like days in advance) what the outcomes of each competition happens to be, that doesn’t mean that we’re not enjoying what NBC has decided to showcase.

Let’s give it a rundown, shall we?

  • Gymnastics
  • Diving
  • Swimming
  • Beach Vollyball

And what do these four Olympic events have in common?

That’s right – extremely athletic, good looking people, all wearing extremely tight and/or slightly revealing clothing.

Heck, just Google “Olympic Nip Slip” and you’ll find a treasure trove of stills from various diving events (and women’s water polo, judo, and elsewhere).   As Web Watch pointed out a few days ago, high-speed still photography can lead to some interesting shots.

Which brings us to today’s site:  one that takes a closer look at Olympians’ butts.

It’s all in the name of news reporting that Web Watch points this out:  the folks at NBC know what they’re doing by focusing on these types of sports — it’s because people like to gawk a little bit.

How else to explain why the NBC camera crew likes to FOCUS ON BEACH VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES with their camera work and video direction?  Which led to the obvious question, WHAT IF ALL OLYMPIC EVENTS WERE FILMED IN THE SAME MANNER THAT BEACH VOLLEYBALL IS DONE?

Browsing through the photo gallery, you’ll see how most sports just don’t live up to the Beach Volleyball Butt comparison.

Definitely not basketball.

But, wrestling? Maybe.

What do you think?  Which Olympic Butt would you like to see focused on more during the NBC telecast?
