One thing that everyone should do at some point in their lives is give back a little bit.
How you give is entirely up to you. Some choose to contribute money or time to their church, while others participate with local healthcare or children-oriented organizations.
Maybe you take the time to help build a house, or do yardwork for someone who is unable to do it for themselves.
But if you only have money to give, you can choose from any of thousands of legitimate charities that cater to pretty much every aspect of life that interests you.
But it’s always good to know whether the charity that you’re donating to is utilizing those donations properly. Because, let’s face it: some charities are better at using your money than others.
That’s what the TAMPA BAY TIMES found out when they did their own investigation to uncover what they are referring to as the WORST CHARITIES IN AMERICA.
Based on their research, the Tampa Bay Times is calling the KIDS WISH NETWORK the WORST CHARITY IN AMERICA, based on their use of funds. Per the story, only $0.03 of every dollar raised is actually spent on the charity’s target of sick children.
Three cents. 3%.
The bulk of the money they raise goes to running fund-raisers. Of course, Kids Wish staff refute the report, so you’ll want to do your own research as to whether the Tampa Bay report is still valid or not.
You can see what sites like CHARITY NAVIGATOR have to say about the charity that you’ve chosen to donat to. For example, Charity Navigator has a DONOR ADVISORY listed for Kids Wish.
