Need a retro videogame fix? The Atari arcade is now online!
But as we’ve gotten older, we’ve lost the power cords and couldn’t find the replacement Atari 2600 joysticks that we had set aside in case of emergencies such as this.
This is why Web Watch is thrilled that Atari has taken it upon themselves to open their free online ATARI ARCADE website, featuring the best of their original games just for you.
The games that they’ve recreated for us include the original Atari 2600 ADVENTURE game (with the bat, the crazy yellow dragon, and the annoying blue maze), ASTEROIDS, BATTLEZONE, LUNAR LANDER, and YAR’S REVENGE.
It’s a great way to kill a few lunchtime minutes as you relive your youth and remember how many quarters you wasted on the home or arcade versions of these games.
And if you’ve completely forgotten how to play ADVENTURE to find the hidden dot to access the first video game easter egg, you might want to read the ATARI ADVENTURE FAQ WALKTHROUGH.
