So PASTE Magazine has come out with their list of the TOP 20 GADGETS OF THE PAST DECADE (2000-2009), and while Web Watch certainly agrees with the sentiment that such a list entails, we seriously question the validity of any such survey that places TiVo anywhere lower than #1.
Granted, TiVo did make it to #2 on the list, and even the most casual observer should be able to guess what #1 on the list is without even looking — and considering that it can be strongly argued that the #1 item on the list has been equally popular and influential, Web Watch really shouldn’t complain too much at all.
That said, the real question is determining how much of a geek or nerd you are by how many of these items you have owned over the years. Web Watch clocks in at a solid “11”, for those of you keeping score.
Here’s the list:
- (We told you – take a guess)
- TiVo
- Garmin GPS
- Vodaphone 3G computer card
- Wii
- Amazon Kindle
- iPhone
- Slingbox
- Blackberry
- XBox
- PS3 and Blu-Ray
- Apple Airport Express
- Dyson Air Multiplier
- Sonos Music System
- Flip Video Camera
- Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones
- USB flash drive
- XCelerator hand dryer
- the iTrip
- Jabra Bluetooth
Now if only that company that made the #1 ranked gadget would come out and buy TiVo already, then we’d be super-happy. That one is a no brainer, really.
One reply on “You’re kidding – How can the top gadget of this decade NOT be TiVo?”
PA-LEASE… like the … oh, have to keep the secret. But of course that was #1
