Ken Jennings Trivia Almanac, featuring 8,888 trivia questions
Ken Jennings is a trivia master.
He’s the 2nd greatest earnings champion in JEOPARDY! history, but has won more overall game show earnings than any other contestant. He has a few books, of course – he even has his own CAN YOU BEAT KEN board game. He even won GRAND SLAM, the trivia contest that pitted all the top game show contestants against each other to see who truly was the best.
In interviews, Ken has said that nobody can really know it all, and there were a number of Jeopardy! questions that he simply guessed the answers to. Granted, they were highly educated guesses – but they were guesses nonetheless.
Which brings us to THE TRIVIA CHAMPIONSHIP OF NORTH AMERICA (or TCONA, for short).
This is the event for you to try if you are a whiz at Trivial Pursuit, or considered the “go-to guy” on your Team Trivia team at the local bar.
Paul Bailey, who helps organize the US edition of THE WORLD QUIZZING CHAMPIONSHIP (among other trivia events) is the brainchild behind getting the TCONA up and running, perhaps in conjunction with WQC events. So at least the person behind this idea has some trivia credibility.
Paul is hoping for the event to take place in Las Vegas, perhaps during the last few weeks of June 2011. While details are still being worked out, feel free to check out the TCONA Facebook page for more details.

GAME SHOW CHAMPS, COMPUTER NEMESIS & SEARCH FOR NEW CONTESTANTS Experts will debate strategies of machines and humans + official test and auditions
A panel discussion on Watson — the IBM computer that won on the television game show Jeopardy! — is scheduled as part of the Trivia Championships of North America (TCONA). Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter are slated to describe their strategy against the machine, and IBM researcher Dr. Gerald Tesauro will talk about how the Watson system was taught to play the game at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 9, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The strategy session will cover a variety of topics including the evolution of the abilities of the computer along with the planning that led up to the grand challenge. The panel will be moderated by Ed Toutant, a former IBM
employee and Jeopardy! champion, who in 2001 became a top prize winner on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
A special opportunity is planned for TCONA participants who have not previously appeared on Jeopardy! Attendees can take the official qualification test for the show, and top scorers will be invited to follow-up auditions
during the weekend.
