Why women should stop riding bicycles

As if women needed to have another reason to worry about exercise and their bodies’ health, along comes another study that makes another medical connection that shows that the wrong type of exercise is actually bad for you.

According to a study in the JOURNAL OF SEXUAL MEDICINE, women who ride bicycles will suffer from decreased sexual pleasure.

Oh, we’re not talking about the casual bike rider.  We’re talking about those hard-code bicyclist who insist on peddling it all over town for a minimum of 10 miles per week, every week.

(Yeah, that’s not a typo.  We know we wrote “peddling” instead of “pedaling”.  It’s an old joke. A bit of word play. Humor us here, you’ll be laughing later.)

Even moreso, the research shows that the position of the handlebars makes a difference in how the handlebars are adjusted.  Women whose handlebars are lower than the bike seat will put increased pressure on their genital area, leading to an increase in prolonged numbness and pressure.

So if you’re a competitive bike rider AND you like having sex, then you’ll want to take a look at where your handlebars are.  Don’t put any excess pressure where it’s not needed – and maybe your body will thank you later.
