We all know someone who can rattle off any movie quote, from any movie, at any time.
They’re the kind of guy that nobody really wants to hang out with… unless it’s Trivia Night at the local bar, and your normal “movie expert” is nowhere to be seen.
And then, wouldn’t you know it, Movie Quote Guy ends up winning the whole thing for you, which means that you are now obligated to invite them back to join you next week.
Dammit.
AFI’s 100 Years, 100 Movies: American Film Institute
But here’s how you can make it easy on yourself: you don’t actually have to memorize all the movie quotes in the world in order to win your next bar Trivia Night.
Nope – all you really need to do is memorize THE AFI’s LIST OF TOP MOVIE QUOTES OF ALL TIME — or, at least of 2005, when the American Film Institute originally put out this list.
We think you can all guess what the #1 movie quote is: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”, from Gone With The Wind.
But let’s flip this around a bit, to see how well you know your quotes.
We’ll name the film – you say the quote. If it’s really that famous of a quote, you’ll be able to recite it without any issue.
