Facebook vs the World: Tracking Your Friendships around the Globe

Web Watch has traveled all over the world and has made tons of friends.

We could call up folks from Hong Kong to Morocco, and places in-between using that old-fashioned telephone thingie.

Sure, we could use Facebook to reach out to all our friends, but why do something that impersonal when you can reach out and touch someone with a phone call?

Well, that is one of the beautiful things about Facebook is that it IS worldwide, and does allow you to make that personal connection with your long-lost buddies from around the world.

Looking at the US Facebook users, their five most popular connections with foreign countries are:

  1. Mexico
  2. Canada
  3. Dominican Republic
  4. the UK
  5. Australia

But if we look at the top friendship connections from Australia, the top five connections are being made at:

  1. New Zealand
  2. the UK
  3. Ireland
  4. Singapore
  5. Hong Kong

Even Canada, America’s #2, has some interesting Top 5 connections:

  1. Australia
  2. the UK
  3. The US
  4. Philippines
  5. Hong Kong
