People also look at their phones at night for news, but also for less cerebral stuff, entertainment to go along with their TV watching or other social activities.
In fact, smartphone usage peaks around 9:00pm every night, with an equal amount of use of phones or tablets. Phone usage still dominates… but likely not for very much longer as tablets become more ubiquitous.
