What is the Most Influential Candy Bar of All Time?

America was built on candy.  Take a look around any grocery store, theme park, or children’s daycare center, and you’ll see those jacked-up sugar high kids clamoring for just a little bit sweet to shove into their adorable pieholes.

And growing up, weren’t we all exactly the same way?

There’s a reason that candy makes us nostalgic for the old times, when we didn’t have much to care about other than scraping up another quarter to buy a Whatchamacallit, a candy bar so asininely named that it had to be good.

But what makes some candy bars iconic, and others fail miserably, never to be seen again?

It’s not just about capturing lightning in a bottle, like combining caramel and cookie crunch for the first time.

No, there has to be something more.

That’s why TIME Magazine decided to take a look at what they are calling the 13 MOST INFLUENTIAL CANDY BARS OF ALL TIME.  Take a look at this list, and let us know if you agree with the TIME editors or not:

  • Wonka Bar
  • Milky Way
  • Baby Ruth
  • Nestle Crunch
  • Cadbury Milk Chocolate
  • Scharffen Berger
  • Grenada Chocolate
  • Chicken Dinner
  • Snickers
  • Nestle Milk Chocolate
  • Toblerone
  • Hershey’s Milk Chocolate
  • Kit Kat

What, no dark chocolate representation?  This list is a fraud, we say.
