If you’ve ever thought about running away from home, you’re not alone.

You’re not alone. It ends up that many children have expressed a desire to run away from home at some point in their childhoods.  The surprisingly part is the sheer number that did so.

Run Run Away
Run Run Away

That’s the findings in a study from ACTION FOR CHILDREN that asked 1000 children ranging in age from 8 to 16 years old.

Here’s some of what they found:

  • 27% of those surveyed have thought about running away from home.
  • 13% of those surveyed have spent the night away from their parents, without telling their parents where they were going
  • 20% of those surveyed know of at least one person who regularly doesn’t sleep at home because of family issues.

The saddest part of the survey was that 42% of those who had run away from home said they did so because they thought that their parents didn’t want them anymore.

See?  It’s not just you.

What’s YOUR childhood running away from home story?  How did that turn out for you?
