Who is Jeff Probst’s Biggest Fan?

There are fans of the TV show SURVIVOR – like Web Watch and others we know, who enjoy the adventure and gameplay that Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett bring to our television screens each week (along with the hysterical ignorance of every contestant to Jeff’s constant advice to always be looking towards the end-game in determining how to best strategize your way to a $1 million dollar grand prize).

And there are Super Fans, folks who study every aspect of the show – who train themselves on show trivia and gaming techniques in the hopes that they too will be picked by the shows’ casting directors and added to the list of hundreds of Survivor contestants who have pushed themselves to the limits (both mental and physical) to claim the title of Ultimate Survivor.

The ultimate viewing order for Star Wars films

Web Watch does enjoy the movies, and our friends take great pride in being able to unironically throw out movie quotes or other references when the moment requires it.

One oft-debated topic between us is what to do with today’s kids when it comes to introducing them to one of the most acclaimed and iconic film series of our generation, STAR WARS.

By now, Web Watch hopes that our readers are aware that Star Wars consists of six films – the first trilogy that was released being the 4th, 5th, and 6th films in the series; and the second trilogy consisting of the introductory 1st, 2nd, and 3rd films.

Weird, we know – but to Star Wars fans, everything made sense at the time.

And yes, we’re purposefully leaving out all the novels from the Star Wars universe that really mucked up the master plotline (Web Watch is looking at you, Alan Dean Foster, for jumping the gun on dysfunctional family relationships within the Vadar family in Splinter of the Mind’s Eye).

A friend of ours was concerned about raising his son correctly by not revealing any key plot points in the 5th and 6th films that would minimize the enjoyment of watching the films anew with his son.  The element of surprise is so important, you know.   He was really concerned about kids at the playground spilling the beans as well.   Yes, our friend does seem to be trying to raise a sheltered child in this regard, but he means well – so don’t judge.

But since the first three films also delve into that critically important plot device, our friend was torn as to what to do regarding how to introduce his son to the Star Wars universe.

Disney Princesses in Real Life, a photo essay

Jirka Väätäinen is a Finnish design student at Bournemouth, and he wants to be very clear that his name is pronounced “Yirka”, not “Jerk-a”.

Web Watch has no reason to quibble with him on this, as he’s doing some phenomenal work on RE-IMAGINING DISNEY PRINCESSES as if they were real-life people.

Sure, we’ve seen some other examples of this with live models, but Jirka is taking a slightly different approach on this with his photo-realistic, manipulations that are designed to showcase what the Disney Princess would look like as an actual person.

Not a cartoon caricature, but really-for-real people.

Let’s take a quick look…

Going on a first date? Here’s what your drink choice says about you…

First dates are always rough.

Especially if it’s a blind date.

You’re typically going to meet at a bar (a “safe place” for some), and order a couple of drinks and have a few laughs.

The hope is that you want to hit it off, and maybe Get Some later tonight.  But you may have completely ruined your chances before you even opened your mouth.

Why?

Because First Impressions are a key element to having a successful First Date.   And there is one thing you can do to ensure that your first impression is a good one.

And that’s to be careful with what you’re seen with as your first drink.

Are you an ethical diner? Here’s how to select the best-run restaurant for your next meal

We all enjoy eating out at restaurants.

The food is typically well-prepared, and who doesn’t enjoy being waited on by a young go-getter who is eager to please and provide the Ultimate Dining Experience?

Ok, well maybe not every restaurant you eat at ends up being the Ultimate Dining Experience, but go with us on the concept here.

Let’s look at this from another viewpoint – if you were going to work at a restaurant, would you rather work at a restaurant that provided the Ultimate Employee Experience, or one that treated all of their employees without care?

Where was that album cover photo taken?

You have a large collection of CDs and albums, right?

And you’ve spent many a night, listening to album after album while studying those album and CD covers for inspiration of what the band was feeling like at the time the album was made.

You know, so you could really connect with the band, the same way that music was connecting with you.

How big is the universe?

Do you remember a few years ago when Web Watch showed you a REAL-WORLD COMPARISON OF GERM SIZES?

You were able to zoom in from the size of a sheet of paper down to the size of a carbon atom.  Along the way, you could see and compare the sizes of different germs when compared to common, everyday objects.

Yeah, not too shabby, and kinda cool.

But what if we wanted to take the same concept, and compare the sizes of pretty much everything in the entire universe to, well, the entire universe?

Finish this sentence: It was over when….

Web Watch is pleased to bring you yet another in our ongoing series of WEBSITES THAT HAVE BEEN TURNED INTO BOOKS, following in the footsteps of CAKE WRECKS and F*** MY LIFE that we’ve talked about in the past.

We know, we know.

Why didn’t we think of it?

All it takes is a really awesomely great idea, and you start a blog.  Eventually, you start making so much traffic that mainstream press (and Web Watch) start writing about you.  Soon, the book publishers begin calling — and that’s when you cash in and retire to the Bahamas.

Today’s entry on this list is entitled IT WAS OVER WHEN… (tales of romantic dead ends).

Now your poop can be like art, with all the colors of the rainbow

Girls Don't Poop
Girls Don’t Poop

Web Watch told you about Dr Stool a few years ago, where you can get all your poop questions that you never knew you had answered.

And if Dr Stool wasn’t enough, you could always head over to SMELLY POOP, an educational website that that answers the question, “What other colors of poop are possible?”

And according to them, you can get red, white, brown, yellow… even blue poop!  Yup, you really are what you eat, and any good physician will tell you that all they need to really diagnose any health issue that you may have it to analyze a stool sample.

Women love to snack. Surprised? We aren’t.

The Stop Solution - Stop Yo-Yo Dieting, Snacking And Big Portions - Hypnosis
The Stop Solution – Stop Yo-Yo Dieting, Snacking And Big Portions – Hypnosis

Who doesn’t like to have a snack or two between meals?

Web Watch has been known to grab a 3pm bowl of popcorn while at the office.  Snickers and 5-Hour Energy have entire advertising campaigns around mid-day snacking.

So we shouldn’t be surprised about what the ALMOND BOARD OF CALIFORNIA found out after survying over 400 women aged 35 and over.

What's That From?: The Ultimate Quiz Book of Contemporary Movie Lines
What’s That From?: The Ultimate Quiz Book of Contemporary Movie Lines

Do you consider yourself an expert on films and movies?

Web Watch has seen a ton of them over the years, but we admit that our memory banks have gotten a little fuzzier with some of the more obscure films that we’ve had to sit through.

On the other hand, we can recite lines from SORORITY BABES AT THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-A-RAMA and PSYCHOS IN LOVE.

Hate your body? Try a HUMAN UPGRADE

Upgrade Me: Our Amazing Journey to Human 2.0
Upgrade Me: Our Amazing Journey to Human 2.0

Do you remember the classic TV show, MAN FROM ATLANTIS?

It featured an actor with webbed fingers and toes, able to swim deep into the ocean to solve crimes.  Our recollection is that he had gills and could breath underwater like Aquaman, but there’s been a lot of alcohol in our system since then so we may be confusing two different characters.

But the webbed fingers and toes?  Those were real.

66% of employees surveyed will respond to email while on vacation

Vacation
Vacation

66% of people surveyed said that they will respond to emails and text messages from work while on vacation.

Combine that with the 83% of diehard workaholics that say they check business email after-hours after they’ve left the office, and the 29% who still attend online meetings and/or conference calls while taking a day or two off, and what you have is a bunch of people who just can’t learn how to relax.   Heck, Web Watch is guilty of this ourselves, having done everything from creating Powerpoint presentations while sitting in a Las Vegas casino hotel lobby to hosting a conference call while on the Mad Tea Party teacups at Walt Disney World.

We’re not proud of the latter, but one does what one has to do.

Not everybody can be “on” all the time; everyone is entitled to having some sort of downtime… and if your office can’t survive for an evening without your prying eyes micromanaging everything, then maybe you’re working for the wrong company.
