What About Sex?: Teens Speak Out About Parents, Peers & Personal Responsibility
It’s a growing trend these days – parents, in their bid to be “cool and hip”, are allowing their teens to have more and more benefits that the parents may have been denied themselves while growing up.
Whether it be their own cellphone when they’re 10 years old, regular access to the kegerator in the basement when they’re 15, or being given their own new car just because they lived to be 16-years-old – more parents are deciding that the old rule of “as long as it’s at home, it’s okay” is a perfectly adequate way to raise their children.
Even when it comes to teens having sex in the house.

A new study has been published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology entitled PERCEIVED PROPOSER PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS AND GENDER DIFFERENCES IN ACCEPTANCE OF CASUAL SEX OFFERS by Terri Conley.
Say what?
Yeah – it’s a study on what men and women look for when entertaining an offer to have a one night stand. A hook-up. Friends with benefits. Casual sex.
So what did the study find out? That men and women are basically the same when it comes to deciding who – or more importantly, why - we decide to hook up with someone or not.

How to be a Man: A Guide to Style and Behavior for the Modern Gentleman
If you have read DETAILS or GQ magazines over the past few years, you’ve probably seen the Style column written by Glenn O’Brien.
You may mock the recommendation for this book or others like it that have variations of “for the Modern Man” in the title, but you’ll find that if you pick them up and give them a quick glance, you’ll find at least a dozen helpful hints and suggestions hidden among all the things that you may feel don’t apply to you.
In other words, go out and get it. And frankly, any of these books make great gifts to your favorite nephew or younger cousin just about to enter high school or college. Might even get them set into the right direction as they’re about to head off into adulthood.

Web Watch has worked for two types of companies:
The philosophy behind the former is that an employee would have a bank of sick days that are available even if they use up all their vacation.
The philosophy of the latter is that employees should be treated like adults, and if they want to use all their “sick” days as actual vacation then it’s up to them do choose to do so.
There really are pros and cons of both. There’s nothing wrong with taking a “mental health day”, but having official vacation days that can be scheduled helps the organization ensure that there is proper coverage for whatever they happen to need staff for.
