Why Your K-Cup Coffee Habit Sucks

How much do you love your coffee?

Are you so totally addicted that you have to have a couple of cups of coffee at the drive-thru even before you get to the office, then brew your own “special” pot just because you can?  Do you have your own coffee station in your bedroom or master bathroom, because coffee is The Most Important Thing for your Morning?

Then maybe you’re one of those people who went out and purchased the KEURIG K-CUP COFFEE BREWING STATION, in part for the easy convenience of being able to brew a single cup of coffee without having to brew up an entire pot.

For households that have just one coffee drinker in the family, the Keurig system certainly makes sense.  Less mess, less waste.  How could this be a bad idea?

Most Iconic Brands across the US

Whenever Web Watch travels around the country, we always try to “go local” whenever possible.  We can eat at an Applebee’s or a McDonald’s almost anywhere… but we’ll go out of our way to chow down at an IN-N-OUT BURGER or grab a beer at the WYNKOOP BREWERY because, well, we can’t get that stuff locally.

Well, we could if we put some effort into the project, but you know what we mean.  When you travel, you want to be like a native.  If that means drinking sweet tea while in the South, or grabbing some BBQ in Texas, having a lobster roll in Maine — well, by golly, that’s what we’re going to do.

51% of all fast-food restaurant customers have done this

Who doesn’t like fast food?

First, it’s fast.  Convenience plays a big part of the equation here.  Have you ever noticed that you can get a burger in a few seconds at your local fast food burger joint, but asking them for a salad kinda throws the staff for a loop?

“wha?  salad?  uh, where do we have the salad fridge?  Where’s the list of dressings? Sorry – we ran out of the one salad we had prepared, would you mind waiting 20 minutes while we defrost one from the freezer for you?  You want fries while you wait? We got those right here for ya…”

Top 9 Brands with the Largest Social Media Market Share

If you’re a brand manager, one goal of your job is to ensure that you have an active Social Media presence.

Some companies do it well.  Some companies do it poorly.  Some companies are non-existent in the social space.   Those that do it well don’t necessarily need any more advice other than to keep doing what’s working.  Those that do it poorly need all the help that they can get.  And those that aren’t participating at all – well, maybe that’s okay for them. It depends on the industry and their products, we suppose.

Survey: How often do you eat breakfast?

Are you a breakfast eater?

Web Watch has always been told that the key to a good day and good health is a good balanced breakfast. After all, our body has just woken up from what is likely 9 hours from the last meal it received, and it needs nourishment to keep going until lunch.

Only a fool would completely skip breakfast, right?  We gotta love our Cocoa Krispies and Count Chocula.

Well, if you are a breakfast skipper, then you are in the majority.

National Coffee Day is September 29th

How to Open a Financially Successful Coffee, Espresso & Tea Shop

Ah, coffee.

For some, the smell of coffee is the equivalent of a new morning, a fresh day ahead.

Starbucks and other gourmet coffee shops have brainwashed the world into believing a $4 cup of coffee is superior to anything that you can brew at home for pennies a cup (we’ve since learned that’s not true – otherwise, why would those same coffee shops be selling coffee beans to take home for self-brewing?).

Survey: What’s Your Favorite Fast Food?

ZAGAT surveyed 6,100 hungry fast-food and full-service restaurant patrons about their favorite places to eat, and has finally compiled and released the results for 2009.

Visiting Every Starbucks in the World

Winter is trying to VISIT EVERY STARBUCKS IN THE WORLD.

His most recent journey started at the end of May 2009, and he hopes to add to his total of over 9,000 visited Starbucks stores (out of a possible 16,000+) by the end of his eight-month trip.

The biggest obstacle at hand?  Starbucks’ recent announcement to close 200 more stores that included some locations that Winter hadn’t visited yet.
