By web gangsta | Published:

Planning what to wear for a wedding can be stressful enough — the dress, the shoes, the reception shoes, the post-reception shoes, the pre-party outfits, the hair and makeup outfit, etc.

But can you believe what the bride doesn’t panic about?

What does the average wedding cost?

They say that there are three things that one should expect to consider as The Most Important Expenses in your lifetime:  a new car, a new home, and your first wedding.

(Kids, naturally, are also an expense over time — but that’s an expense that returns love and so much more, so Web Watch will leave that one out of this discussion.)

Top reasons why people shouldn’t rush into marriage

Web Watch, like many of you, have seen our share of weddings and divorces from friends and family.

We’ve seen friends move from casually dating, to serious dating, to getting engaged and more.  Web Watch knows one person who’s had three weddings in 10 years time.

Some people just like being married, it seems.  Continue reading TOP REASONS WHY PEOPLE SHOULDN’T RUSH INTO MARRIAGE

What’s the perfect age gap while dating?

By web gangsta | Published:

What’s the age difference between you and your current partner?

Are you one who likes your spouse to be a little bit older than you are, or perhaps a little younger?

Times have past since our parents’ generation, where it was not unusual to marry your high school sweetheart, someone who you graduated with in the same class.  Or even those times when your soulmate was just one year ahead or behind you.

How young is too young to get married?

By web gangsta | Published:

We all have heard about young couples getting married straight out of high school, 18-year-olds who just KNOW that the person they’re marrying is The One for them.

And then there’s the Doug Hutchinsonand Courtney Stodden wedding, where the then 16-year-old Courtney married the 51-year-old actor.   And while there is a significant age difference between Doug and Courtney, we can say that their love has outlasted at least one Kardashian marriage.  So they do have that going for them.

But you should recall that when Courtney and Doug got hitched, there was a huge public outcry over not just their age difference, but also how Courtney’s mother gave permission for her 16-year-old daughter to go through with the marriage in the first place.

Look, if it was true love, Courtney and Doug could have waited two more years until she turned 18.  Then, while still having a little bit of the creepy factor, it would at least be a legal union between adults rather than an arrangement with a minor (albeit one with parental approval).

When should you stop wearing your wedding ring?

Quick poll:  how many Web Watch readers are currently divorced?

We’d go with an average and say that at least 25% of you are… but we figure that may be a bit high of an estimate.

Even so, it wouldn’t surprise us if that were the case.  There do seem to be a large number of divorced people in this world, but they all seem to have the same question in their minds:

How to be the perfect groom

Maybe Angelina and Brad have it right — just don’t get married (or, at the very least, tell the kids that you’re going to get married… even if it’s “eventually”).

Couples that we thought were in it for the long haul — Johnny Depp, for example — can even surprise us by separating.

Over the years, Web Watch has seen any number of our friends get married, get divorced, and get married again.  For some, it’s turned into a comedy of errors as to how long their current marriage is going to last – whether it will be shorter or longer than the last one.

It happens.

Marriage isn’t for everyone.

Trending: Brides prefer cotton over silk

It’s June, which means that every young woman’s heart turns to marriage.  And more importantly, weddings.

There’s nothing more special than a June bride (says everyone who has been a June bride).  That walk down the aisle, when the entire wedding party turns to look at you in your radiant white dress.  The music swells, the tissues come out…

All that pomp and circumstance for what?  Just to be able to wear one dress for one time, and then to put it away in a dress bag to hang in the back of your closet until you finally decide to throw that thing out.

In some divorces, couples fight over who gets the toilet paper

In some divorces, couples fight over who gets the toilet paper.

One of Web Watch’s friends wanted out of his marriage so badly, he left everything behind. The ex-wife got everything – including his clothes.  He felt it was easier to just replace all his stuff then it was to have to deal with her in any way.

Yeah, that was a rough divorce, but rest assured that he’s in a much, much happier place now.
