What one pound of fat looks like
Model replica of one-pound of fat

Being fat isn’t necessarily good for you.

But Donna Simpson made it work for her.

How?  Donna Simpson was the Guinness World Record holder for “World’s Heaviest Mother” and clocked in at 600 lbs on her 5’2″ frame.

Yeah, that’s a lot of woman.  And we’re sure that Web Watch readers are asking the same thing — when you weigh 600lbs, what can you do to earn a living? It certainly can’t be easy manuevering around a workplace when you’re that big.

Well, you could do what Donna did.

The Perfect Game of Putt-Putt – it’s only happened three times since 1959

Idiots on the Miniature Golf Course
Idiots on the Miniature Golf Course

Rick Baird from Charlotte, North Carolina, is not an idiot, nor does he play “miniature golf”.

He plays Putt-Putt, and he’s really good at it.

Web Watch knows you’re confused — isn’t putt-putt golf and miniature golf the same thing?  No, dear reader, it isn’t.  Putt-Putt is a franchised company that defines a standard set of putting challenges that will be mainly the same from one Putt-Putt location to another.  Consistency is important here, and putting is a true skill to be showcased.

Miniature golf, on the other hand, is the one with windmills, gorillas, fake blue water, tunnels, obstacles, and other entertainment stuff scattered across the putting surface and environment.  Definitely not the same thing.

Origami Craft Studio
Origami Craft Studio

Many years ago, Web Watch told you about a girl who figured out that it was mathematically possible to FOLD A SINGLE PIECE OF PAPER OVER ON ITSELF 12 TIMES.

The long-held reasoning was that it was physically impossible to fold a piece of paper in half more than eight times, but Britney Gallivan proved that paper could be folded over 12 times.

How to perform the “Perfect Handshake” according to math experts, and other handshaking stats

The Secret Handshake
The Secret Handshake

Howie Mandel doesn’t shake hands.

Donald Trump tries not to shake hands.

World leaders are judged on who they shake hands with, and who shakes hands (or not) with them.

Yes, shaking hands is definitely an art, and the folks at CHEVROLET UK wanted to figure out exactly how to shake hands the right way, as a good solid handshake is often the key to closing a new car sale.

So they came up with THE GUIDE TO THE PERFECT HANDSHAKE, and even commissioned a university professor to come up with a mathematical equation to putting that perfect handshake together.

The World’s Fastest Game of Monopoly: 21 seconds

Monopoly Slot Machine
Monopoly Casino Slot Machine Game

If you have ever been to Las Vegas, then you should be familiar with one of the most popular slot machine game themes ever made: Monopoly.  (Yes, the ubiquitious Wheel! of! Fortune! games are a more popular theme, but that’s a different article for a different day).

And when it comes to playing Monopoly – playing the Monopoly-themed slot machine is certainly one way to say that you have played the World’s Fastest Game of Monopoly.

But you would be incorrect, as the slot machine is not the board game, and when it comes to talking smack about Monopoly, it’s all about the board game.

So, Web Watch readers, we ask you this question:  assuming you play exactly by the listed rules in a standard set of Monopoly, WHAT IS THE SHORTEST AMOUNT OF TIME THAT A MONOPOLY GAME CAN BE PLAYED?

The Universal Record Database: Documenting Life’s Greatest (and not so great) Accomplishments

Guinness World Records Video Game - Wii
Guinness World Records Video Game – Wii

Have you ever wanted to set a world record?

Sure, you’ve read through the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS and contemplated what you could do for fame and infamy, whether there was any category of achievement or secret skill that you may have that would qualify for inclusion in the next edition.

And sadly, while there are thousands of possible records that are recognized as Official World Records, there are also those activities that deserve to be included in some sort of World Record Database – ANY database will do, especially when it’s something as mundane as seeing how long you could throw a ball around the apartment with your friends without letting it hit the ground.

Because until someone else comes along and does the same thing in your apartment, it’s still going to count as a world record.

If only there was some way to record and report these types of things without having to go through an official documenting body, such as Guinness.

Meet David Rosdeitcher – The Zip Code Man

The Adventures of the ZipCodeMan
The Adventures of the Zip Code Man

David Rosdeitcher has an affinity for numbers, or just a really good memory. He is a street performer from Boulder, Colorado, and his act consists of asking the audience for their zip code.  He then proceeds to tell those people not only what city they’re from, but also about a restaurant or other local point of interest that’s located there.

He’s been called THE ZIP CODE MAN, THE MIGHTY ZIP CODE MAN, and MR ZIP CODE.

As a busker, he earns money based on the tips that people provide from the entertainment he offers.  His pitch line is “give me money, because I know where you live.”  It seems to be effective.
