STD’s (sexually transmitted diseases) are no laughing matter, especially if you’re a parent trying to raise teenagers. Casual sex amongst young people happens, you know. All a parent can do is hope that they’ve raised their children correctly in that they’ll use proper protection or common sense when it comes time to hook up.
How many diet sodas do you drink in a day?
Two? Three? Twelve?
There’s a reason Diet Coke is more popular than regular Coca-Cola — people just like the taste better, regardless of whether they’re drinking it because it’s a diet beverage or not.
But have you looked at the ingredient label lately?
By now, you’ve likely heard about the alleged scam being run by some enterprising business-oriented folks who would use their disability to a tourist advantage by renting out their services — and ability to go straight to the front of the line — as a Disney tour guide to rich families.
It’s been a long common “trick”, where anyone with a wheelchair could go to the handicap entrance and board a ride at a Disney park immediately. But due to those aforementioned business transactions, because of the actions of a few Disney had to make dramatic changes to their policies and procedures.
You know you’ve always wanted to learn how to draw a butt.
How to draw GREAT BUTTS with just FIVE LINES
Parents have it tough when their kids get sick.
Do you keep the kids at home, where you have to either take your own sick day or find a babysitter? Or do you send the kids to school so they can maintain their 100% attendance record?
Maybe you should just let the schools decide for you.
The other day, Web Watch was in a grocery store where we saw a woman with her chihuahua on a leash walking through the produce section. The dog was wearing a “service dog vest”, indicating that this dog was specifically trained to assist the disabled in some manner.
And we’ve been seeing more and more of this. Service dogs appear to be everywhere nowadays. Have you seen this trend also?
There are two places that people dread visiting: the DMV and the doctor’s office.
For whatever reason, both places tend to make your visit an excruciating painful routine of waiting, waiting, and more waiting.
While Web Watch can’t help you with the DMV, we can help you with your doctor visits. Common sense says to book your doctor’s visit first thing in the morning, before they get backed up with patients that talk too much or have more complicated issues than you do.
But is that really the best time?
How many babies are circumsized in hospitals each year?
It can be a controversial conversation between new parents, to decide if circumcision is a procedure they want to put their newborn son through (if not for religious reasons). Some women say that they prefer men who have been circumsized, while other women prefer those that aren’t.
There used to be a myriad of health reasons that would default the answer to circumsize, but in today’s health-aware world, those reasons are becoming less important – and many parents are choosing not to have their children go through the circumcision process.
Do you know what the texting-while-driving laws are where you live?
What about in states that you don’t live in, but travel to frequently?
Right – so you may know what you can or can’t do in the car in your own home state, but since these rules are so random, it’s hard to know what you should be aware of when you’re just passing through.
Are you a smoker?
Do you own a smartphone (such as an iPhone or an Android device)?
Then chances are – there’s a correlation between the two that you haven’t realized.
Going to the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM is never a good time.
There’s no good food, the chairs are uncomfortable, there are germs everywhere… the hospital is not the place that you want to go to if you don’t already have a reason to be there.
So in the guise of helping parents, researchers at the NATIONWIDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN COLUMBUS, OHIO went through thousands of child emergency room records from 2001 to 2009 to see if there were any trends in PREVENTABLE EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS that could be discovered through the data.
The theory is that if parents were aware of why children were going to the emergency room, maybe they could be more aware of those situations and prevent them from occuring in the first place.
How many hours of sleep do you need a night?
Some people religiously go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 5am, a good seven hours of sleep every night. They are also likely to have a decent breakfast and workout before heading off to be at the office before everyone else.
These go-getters tend to piss off everyone else around them, don’t they?
Every summer, you see it at the local Target or Wal-Mart: endcap after endcap of bug repellent and mosquito sprays.
OFF!, Cutter. Avon Skin-So-Soft. Wrist bands, citronella candles — there are tons of products that claim to repel mosquitos. Some do a fairly good job, others not as much. Then there’s the whole question of whether you should go DEET or DEET-FREE in your annoying bug management plan.
Web Watch has always thought that it would be interesting to see an “all drugs allowed” Olympics.
Let anyone who wanted to compete fire up the latest steroid or health enhancement and duke it out. Everything would be on the up-and-up and open — which would be the key. All competitors would have to openly admit to what they were doping and be tested to prove it.
But you could do whatever you want. In that type of wide-open sporting environment, let’s break some records with an asterisk to see what the human body could be stretched to do if given the chance.
Do you suffer from any health conditions that you can’t explain?
Have you tried absolutely everything that’s available over-the-counter, to no avail?
Perhaps, Web Watch reader, the issue isn’t something that can be solved with a Little Yellow Pill, but rather by changing your underwear.
