Most people would rather touch a public toilet seat than shake hands with a sneezer

The Dread Pirate Toilet Seat
The Dread Pirate Toilet Seat

Are you scared of germs?

How do you feel when you meet someone who just came out of the bathroom and you have to shake their hand?  Especially if their hand is still just a little damp from not being dried properly?

Say it with us:  “Eeewww.”

You don’t want to touch anything in a public bathroom that’s wet, right?

Now take the same situation, and instead of “bathroom”, think “sneeze”.  You’re about to shake someone’s hand when they abruptly sneeze into it — then proudly present it for the handshake.  How do you graciously back out of that one?  It’s not like you can immediately switch to the Howie Mandel fistbumptm.

Science proves many pick-up truck drivers are idiots

1956 GMC Pickup
1956 GMC Pickup

Web Watch was driving down the highway the other day when we were almost part of an accident waiting to happen.

The doofus in the pick-up truck in front of us ended up slamming on his brakes for some reason, which led to all of us behind him having to quickly do the same.  While we had plenty of braking room in front of us under normal circumstances, he had his pickup truck tailgate down, taking away an extra foot of available brake space from our squealing tires.

Luckily, this was during the day and we could see that the tailgate was down, but if this same situation happened at night, that truck would be minus one tailgate and we would be minus one engine.

Old Photobooth Photos, Animated

Who We Were: A Snapshot Picture of America
Who We Were: A Snapshot Picture of America

As you go about cleaning out your house, Web Watch is sure that the question of “What shoul I do with all these old photos that we have lying around?” comes up on occasion.

Some photos, you naturally would keep.  Perhaps in a frame, perhaps in a shoebox tucked under the bed.

But there are also novelty photos that really aren’t meaningful enough to keep, but aren’t so bad that you want to throw them away.

That’s where MOVING PICTURES comes in, as they’ve taken dozens of photobooth film strips  and other photos that they’ve found scattered around across America and digitized them.

How better baserunning will win the World Series

Baseball - Skills & Drills: The FUNdamentals of Baserunning
Baseball – Skills & Drills: The FUNdamentals of Baserunning

One thing that Web Watch has trouble understanding is why the baseball season needs to extend out into November.

November is FOOTBALL season, as everyone knows.  Sure, throw in a little pre-season basketball or hockey if you’d like – at least those two are considered “winter” sports.  But baseball already has spring training, the boys of summer, and the fall classic.  Why do they need to bogart the winter season as well – it’s not like baseball is played outdoors in all types of weather, like we see with real sports like football.  Let’s keep the baseball playoffs to the fall months and be done with it.

Maybe the issue is that baseball players don’t really understand how to play the game.

Scrotal cancer is not a laughing matter (Chim Chim Cher-ee)

So the other day, Web Watch read an article entitled CANCER IS A MAN-MADE DISEASE, STUDY CLAIMS, that talked about how cancer was a relatively rare occurance back in the day.

The article said that while DINOSAURS HAD CANCER, cancer was generally considered relatively rare before the 17th century.  For example, scientists found just one mummy from the Dakhleh Oasis that had rectal cancer about 1,600-1,800 years ago, while today cancer is said to be responsible for 1-in-8 deaths.

WHEN IT DROPS tells you when new releases are coming out each week

The Amazon Kindle
The Amazon Kindle

The AMAZON KINDLE is great:  whenever a new book release comes out, you can pretty much instantly download that book to your Kindle and begin reading immediately.

The hard part is knowing what books — or movies, or DVD’s, or video games — are being released each week so that you can be prepared ahead of time.  Sometimes things get released and you just haven’t been paying attention.

Budgie Smugglers
Budgie Smugglers

On any of your last vacations or business trips, have you ever smuggled anything into a movie theater, concert venue, or past the TSA security onto an airplane?

We’re not talking about anything illegal, of course. Something like a sealed bottle of water or a bag of candy purchased elsewhere. Nothing inherently dangerous, but just against the general rules of what’s allowed and what’s not.

And the usual method you employ to smuggle those items is usually what?  Put them into a bag and hope nobody’s looking? Generally this will work…. but check out these WEIRDEST ITEMS SMUGGLED ONTO AN AIRPLANE to see if you would have the same guts to smuggle things in your pants:
