But isn’t it time to take a look at exactly what type of worldwide retail trends we should be looking at when it comes to our underwear purchases?
According to a study entitled the GLOBAL UNDERWEAR MARKET REPORT 2012, sales of all types of underpants are on the rise everywhere around the world:
- More than 1/4 of all underwear sales were made in Europe. The number two underwear-purchasing country was the US, followed by Russia and China.
- In the US, women’s underwear sales increased by 33% from 2004 to 2010. In the same timeframe, men’s underwear sales only increased by 10%
- France reported the highest underwear sales in Europe
- In Japan, the biggest trends in underwear purchases were for breast-reduction bras and fat-burning underwear
