Eating milk chocolate makes you stupid

Another entry from the YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT department – parents should stop telling their children that they’re eating too much chocolate, and instead should encourage them to eat as much chocolate as they’d like.

Why? Their future education and success depends on it.

At least, that’s the conclusion from a STUDY RELATING CHOCOLATE CONSUMPTION AND WINNING THE NOBEL PRIZE.

The study shows that countries with the highest per capita consumption of chocolate win more Nobel prizes than countries that eat less chocolate.

The best part about the study is this 2011 quote from Nobel prize winner Eric Cornell, as mentioned in a news article talking about the study:

“I attribute essentially all my success to the very large amount of chocolate that I consume. Personally I feel that milk chocolate makes you stupid… dark chocolate is the way to go. It’s one thing if you want a medicine or chemistry Nobel Prize but if you want a physics Nobel Prize it pretty much has got to be dark chocolate.”

Web Watch has eaten our fair share of cocoa, and suspects that perhaps Mr Cornell was joking around with the Reuters reporter.  On the other hand, we do support his suggestion that dark chocolate is superior to milk chocolate, so maybe this genius really is onto something and we’re just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up.
