There’s a reason that the entire world stops their day-to-day life and all attention turns to Super Sunday to watch the Best Two Teams in Football duke it out in the Super Bowl each year.
It’s because everybody knows that football – and the Super Bowl – are awesome.

Or at least our friends at the HARRIS POLL do, with their survey results that concluded that FOOTBALL CONTINUES TO BE AMERICA’S FAVORITE SPORT.
Here’s some of the statistics for you to confirm this for yourself:
- 34% of the over 2,000 adults surveyed said that pro football is their favorite sport vs 16% who said baseball was their favorite
- 11% claimed college football
- 8% said auto racing
- 7%: Men’s pro basketball
- 5%: Hockey
- 3%: Men’s college basketball
- 2%: Men’s tennis
- 2%: Swimming
- 2%: Men’s golf
- 2%: Men’s soccer
- *** 2% weren’t sure what their favorite sport was, which was a more popular answer than the following items…
- 1%: Boxing
- 1%: Horseracing
- 1%: Track & field
- 1%: Bowling
- 1%: Women’s tennis
- 1%: Women’s college basketball
- Less than 0.5% each reported Women’s pro basketball, Women’s soccer, and Women’s golf as their favorite sports
