How about a RECENT STUDY ABOUT HAND WASHING AMONGST DOCTORS AND NURSES? You won’t like what you hear.
- Doctors are notoriously bad about not washing their hands. In the study, they found just 61%-68% of the medical professionals bothered to wash their hands between seeing patients. (Nurses fared better overall, with a hand washing routine for 77%-84% of those surveyed)
- The lowest compliance rate was 55% hand washing before seeing a patient.
Some locations did hit 99%, but when it comes to health – just like a restaurant food score – anything below 100% is just a germ-filled time bomb waiting to happen.
