That’s all in the results of a survey entitled THE PSYCHOLOGY OF TIES by bowtie and necktie retailer BOWS-N-TIES.COM.
They asked over 1100 people about their opinion of men in ties vs men who were a bit more casually dressed. Here are some of their results:
- On a first date, women are more attracted to a man who wears a tie by three times more than if the man was dressed more casually.
- When it comes to bowties, men prefer the old-fashioned hand-tied bowtie. Still doesn’t mean that all men know how to do it — so here’s a secret that Web Watch has picked up along the way: a bowtie is tied in the same manner that a shoelace is tied.
- 30% of men said that they wear a tie once a week. Only 4.5% said that they never wear a tie at all.
- Men who wear a tie at least 5 days a week — which, to Web Watch, basically means that they’re wearing a tie every day — are three times more likely to earn over $200k per year in salary compared to those who wear ties less than two times a week.
