The 25 Worst Cities to Live In

Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto

If you’re a video game addict — and let’s face it, if you have at least two “sequel” games in your game library you probably qualify — then you may have sometimes used video games as a way to escape your mundane, humdrum life.

Because who wouldn’t want to be that guy in Grand Theft Auto who can just run around and carjack whatever he feels like sometimes?  Drive around and run bad drivers off the road?

Yeah, feels kinda good, doesn’t it?

But would you really want to live your life in a video game?

We mean, c’mon — some of those video game environments are pretty nasty places to live.  Face it – Mario may be an action hero, but he typically spends his time running through sewer pipes all day.

But if you have to escape to a video game metropolis, here’s a list of 25 WORST VIDEO GAME CITIES that you might not want to live in.

First, it should come as no surprise that the #1 worst city is Liberty City from Grand Theft Auto.

But what other video game locales made the list?  Let’s take a look:

  • Bioshock
  • Racoon City from Resident Evil
  • Your Town from Animal Crossing
  • That city that gets torn down in RAMPAGE.
  • Some old school environments:  JOUST, ROBOTRON 2084, and SMASH TV
  • South Island in Sonic the Hedgehog?!?!?!

And the island of MYST.

Really, MYST made the list?  Sure it’s a little creepy, but nothing there can hurt you.  You can’t die there, the weather’s fairly nice, and you have power and a library.  What’s not to like?
