It’s been a while since Web Watch has looked at the TOP GROSSING VIDEO GAMES for iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. Let’s take a look at which games people are paying to play this month:
First, let’s look at iPhone games. These iPhone games are the top grossing games for July 2020. Practically all of these games are free to download, and offer in-game purchases as a way for the publisher to make money.

A sidenote: has anybody else noticed that the online advertisements for Homescapes and Gardenscapes now explicitly state that “videos/images in the ad do not reflect the actual gameplay”? There’s been a lot of online complaints about advertisements for these games being misleading in that the gameplay being shown make it look like these games are more of the “escape room/puzzle” variety rather than a “match-3 to decorate a house” game. Hopefully, this trend towards showing actual gameplay in the advertisements will continue to grow.
