Playboy’s List of Top Party Schools 2012

It’s that time of year again, where PLAYBOY magazine decides to release their latest rankings of the TOP TEN PARTY SCHOOLS in the country – this time they did in in their BACK TO SCHOOL October issue, rather than at the end of the school year as schools are ramping up recruiting efforts for incoming freshmen.

And let us tell you – there have been some significant changes to the list since the 2011 PLAYBOY TOP PARTY SCHOOLS list came out.

Let’s get right to the list, shall we?

  1. University of Virginia
  2. University of Southern California
  3. University of Florida
  4. University of Texas
  5. University of Wisconsin
  6. University of Georgia
  7. Vanderbilt University
  8. Tulane University
  9. Texas Christian University
  10. Ohio State University

Of this year’s top ten party schools, only University of Georgia and University of Wisconsin are returning alumni.  We may try to include UT on that alumni list, but Playboy didn’t specify if it was the Austin campus or not.  We could make an assumption that it is, but really – why not wait for confirmation before posting that, right?

Playboy did continue with three other categories fo party-dom:  SEX, SPORTS, and NIGHTLIFE.

The number one SEX school was University of North Carolina, followed by NYU, Georgetown, UCLA, Yale, and Syracuse.

The number one SPORTS school was Ohio State University.  #2-#5 were University of Michigan, Texas A&M, Stanford, Auburn, and Notre Dame.

As for NIGHTLIFE, Playboy figures that number one is Southern Methodist University, with UPenn, Stevens Institute of Technology, Northwestern, Lehigh, and UDenver bringing in the next four spots.

Web Watch will let you read the rest of the PLAYBOY rankings yourself (because you should read Playboy for the articles) to see which schools they ranked as the WORST OVERALL PARTY SCHOOL, and the four unlucky runners-up in that category.
