The Ultimate List of Songs to Sing in the Shower

Quick – how many of you sing while in the shower?

Oh, don’t lie.  We all know that over 55% of you do it (we’ve seen the studies).  Besides, MAY 15th  is NATIONAL SING IN THE SHOWER DAY, so you better be prepared.

But the bigger question is, WHAT SONGS DO YOU CHOOSE TO SING IN THE SHOWER?

Well, leave it to Web Watch to compile the ULTIMATE LIST OF SHOWER SONGS for you to consider the next time you decide to pop in for a quick rinse:

A British water company issues a “four minute challenge“, in order to have bathers finish their shower in 4 minutes or less — or, in other words, by the time the song they’re singing is over.  Here is their list:

  • “Love Me Do” by The Beatles
  • “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley
  • “Dance Wiv Me” by Dizee Rascal
  • “Could it be Magic” by Take That
  • “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls

Based on this, they also listed songs not to sing in the shower due to their length:

  • Stairway to Heaven
  • American Pie
  • I Would do Anything for Love
  • Rapper’s Delight
  • Echoes, by Pink Floyd

Over at MSNBC, they just listed some songs that almost anybody with a lack of vocal ability could successfully sing in the shower:

  • “Baby Workout” by Jackie Wilson
  • “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra
  • “Mona Lisa” by Nat King Cole
  • “Rock the Casbah” by The Clash
  • “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli
  • “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis Presley
  • “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne
  • “Eight Days a Week” by The Beatles
  • “Daydream Believer” by The Monkees
  • “Cold Cold Heart” by Hank Williams

Of course, you could leave it to scientists to scientifically prove which songs are best to sing while in the shower, due to the advanced acoustics of shower tiles:

  • “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen
  • “Fight for this love” by Cheryl Cole
  • “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas
  • “I Just Called to Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder
  • “Bad Boys” by Alexandra Burke
  • “Candle in the Wind” by Elton John
  • “Love is all Around” by Wet Wet Wet
  • “Meet me Half Way” by the Black Eyed Peas
  • “She Loves You” by The Beatles
  • “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble

Here’s a Man on the Street interview showing the wide range of selections that college kids think about with their song choices. Billy Joel, Britney Spears, and a surprising choice at the end of the clip.

Of course, there’s always just asking Yahoo users for their opinions:

  • The Barney Song
  • Splish Splash
