Understanding Gay Men’s Consumer Behavior
The study by Nielsen is entitled State of the LGBT Consumer: What Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Households Buy, and it contains such information as that and more:
- Male same-sex households spend nearly 30% more than the average US household.
- The five items most bought in a male same-sex household are: liquor (including beer and wine), men’s toiletries, refrigerated meal starters, coffee, fresheners and deodorizers.
- The five items most bought in a female same-sex household are: cottage cheese and sour cream, pet care, butter and margarine, coffee, cat food
