11 More Words that should be Banned from Use

Previously, Web Watch has shared with our readers WORDS THAT SHOULD NEVER BE USED EVER AGAIN, such as “literally” and “man cave”.

Would you believe that there are even more words that people would never, ever want to hear ever again?

Web Watch would never condone the total banishment of words from our language — look, there’s a time and place for every word’s use.  That’s the biggest issue here — people think that every word should be used at every opportunity, regardless of who the listener or reader is at that time.

But that’s not really the case — all words have a proper time for usage, we’ve just learned not to appreciate those moments.

Still, we can’t disagree with lists such as what Cracked.com came up regarding 6 WORDS and MORE WORDS that should be banned from use.  We recognize that these words can be a bit polarizing to sensitive ears… so we’ll preface this with a warning: prepare to be offended as we share these 11 words with you:

  • Pulp
  • Slurp
  • Yolk
  • Bulbous
  • Jowls
  • Moist
  • Panties
  • Dollop
  • Phlegm
  • Ointment
  • Rural

Of course, you’ll have to link over to read why Cracked believes these to be the most offensive words to ever be verbalized, but Web Watch can tell you (and has likely mentioned in the past) that we do have friends who 100% agree with the inclusion of the words “moist” and “panties” on the above list (not used together, but separately).   They believe that these words just sound, in their definition… “icky”.  Plus, there are plenty of other words that could be used to replace them in our lexicon.

“Damp” and “Underwear” being two options to consider.  Again, not used together, but separately.

So how do you feel about these words?  Do they make you want to gag a bit when you hear them said out loud?
