At least one person sitting near you has a dirty picture on their phone

Quick show of hands — how many of you have a dirty picture on your cell phone, right now?

Web Watch isn’t concerned whether it’s one that you’ve taken of yourself (selfies!) or one that was sent to you (sexted) from one we would hope would be a really close friend.

The question still stands – do you have a dirty picture on your phone, of anyone?

Here’s where it gets weird, and it’s a true story – Web Watch had to go to our local authorized cellphone repair center from one of the Major Cellphone Brands (take your pick: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint).  We were having issues with a memory card, so the agent behind the counter pulled a random card out of the drawer and tried that in our phone.

“See, it works!”, he proclaimed — as he showed us photo after photo of random naked women.  He then put that memory card back in the drawer.   Before the shock of any salesperson using naked photos as their testing method could wear off, we were hustled out the door with our phone back in working order, but without the random naked women images.  We have no idea what was possibly going through that employee’s head when he thought this was going to be a good idea.

Needless to say, Web Watch hasn’t been back to that repair center.  Makes one wonder if that data card was a compilation of images culled from repaired phones, or if it was a single data card left behind by someone by accident.  Does it matter?  Not really…

But we digress.

Here’s what you need to know today:  according to a SURVEY BY AVG TECHNOLOGIES, 25% of all cellphone users have at least one dirty picture on their phone.

That’s 1 out of every 4 people out there on the streets.

This ties into a 2012 SURVEY ABOUT SEXTING that said 15% of cellphone users had received a sext message of someone they knew.  6% said that they have sent a naked picture of themselves to others.  And 3% have forwarded along naked pictures to others.

So now that we know that for every four people sitting around the table, at least one person has something sneaky in their pocket — can you still claim it’s not you?  Leave your comments on the topic below – how likely is it that YOU’RE the one at the table with a secret to hide?
