Turns out that nothing much has changed since Web Watch first shared this piece of information with you.

And this week, Facebook went so much as to give us EXACT NUMBERS ABOUT HOW MANY FACEBOOK ACCOUNTS THEY FELT WERE FAKE.
For 2013, Facebook estimates that between 5.5% and 11.2% of all Facebook users were fakers.
Given this, they did expand upon those numbers a little bit, with the majority of them merely being duplicate accounts that really weren’t needed, but there still being more than 1% of all Facebook accounts being created in a delibrate attempt to violate Facebook’s guidelines.
But considering Facebook’s ever-increasing userbase, 1% of a billion users is still a fairly large number of fake accounts to have to weed through. Who wouldn’t want to have 1% of a billion dollars? But 1% in counterfeit friends? That’s something else entirely.
