Have you ever wondered exactly how much money a celebrity photo from a paparazzi photographer is worth?
For some, not a whole heck of a lot of money. For others, it can make that lucky photographer’s year.
And it’s all about the shot, of course. The average tourist with a cellphone is highly unlikely to get the shot that will let them take a year off.
According to GossipCenter.com, here are the AVERAGE PRICES EXPECTED TO BE PAID FOR A PAPARAZZI PHOTO:
- First, there is a pricing heirarchy. Photos on the web are least expensive, followed by TV. Print is the most lucrative price.
- A photo of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could go for $20,000 on the web, $50k for TV, and a cool $100 grand for print
- The average quarter-page sized magazine shot will generally pull in around $200 or so
Taking all celebrity photos into account, you’re looking at a $3 billion industry.
Yup, that’s “billion”.
That’s a lot of PEOPLE magazines and clicks on the TMZ website.
