There might be two or three good suspenseful scenes, but nothing that can’t wait for DVD viewings.

If you do not enjoy those late-night bloodfests with lousy direction, dialogue, and gratuitous splatter shots, then you will not enjoy this film.

The trailers and commercials and other aspects of the film that make this *look* like it’s been played over and over and over again from the mid-70’s until now? Perfect.
When it comes to the double-feature aspect, the only thing I’ll say is that the first film is a lot more exciting and interesting and funny throughout vs the second film. The second film is classic tarintino with tons of dialogue that really doesn’t seem to have any purpose in the film; I even started to nod off in parts of it. But the “climactic ending”, as some reviews have called it, IS worth sitting through to see it to the end.
Yes, there’s tons of gore. It’s done a little bit for shock value and a lot for humor. See it with a large crowd of people who don’t mind cheering at that stuff. Oh, and there are tons of fun cameos. Well, maybe not “tons”, but enough to make it interesting.

I laughed more than I thought I would.
Enjoyable fluff, but more than slightly predictable.
But if I have to choose one ice-skating competition movie to watch over and over again, nothing can beat THE CUTTING EDGE. Not the lousy made-for-tv movie sequel – that one just sucked.

Definitely go see the 3D version if you have it nearby. It’s incredible and well done. The movie is good too, if a little sappy at times. Good laughs at certain parts, and the commercial does not show what I think is a funnier line in a specific scene.
Which is good, for those of you who hate commercials that ruin all the best parts.
It does get a little predictable in some places, but considering what the plot is, that is to be expected.
Rated R for lots and lots of boob shots, rough sex, strong language, and close-up shots of tight white panties. Not exactly what one would call a child-friendly movie.

It’s a bit cheesy and not as good as the trailer will lead you to believe it to be. If you base your opinion on whether to see the film solely on what you see in the trailer, you will be very misguided – the movie is much more than two hours of watching an old guy tie up a girl to his radiator.
There were some slight comedic moments, and a scene so touching that it made the person next to me tear up. Loved the music.

Quick summary: “Quite Fun”
I’m a Bond fan. Grew up reading all the books and watching the movies with Dad. Always looked forward to the films… and then came the crap years with Timothy Dalton and the over-the-top plots and villains. That’s really when the Bond movies stopped being fun.
Sure, we’d still go to see them — and Pierce Brosnan was great after he finally got the role, but that really didn’t fix the primary problem of the films being utterly boring and predictable.
“Happy Feet” refers to the relief people feel while they shuffle out of this inexplicable mess of a film.

The movie can’t decide what it wants to be: one comedic song-lyric heavy showstopping number after another (which, for the most part, works); a coming-out-of-the-closet story; or an overbearing political environmentalist message that takes up WAY too much of the movie.
Are there laughs? Sure. Most of them will go over kids’ heads — and the adults won’t necessarily be laughing *with* the movie, but at it. Which is never a good sign.
