Today’s cameras are marvels at point-and-click technology, that it is practically impossible to take a bad photograph.
But people do take bad photos, all the time. In part, it’s because modern digital cameras offer so many options to the novice photographer that they get overwhelmed and make bad photographic decisions.
Tilt shift photography is a way to make an image or film look like it’s of a toy miniture or the object is made of plastic — just by adjusting the focus used by the camera.
You can use a special tilt shift lens on your SLR camera, or you can manipulate the image digitally with Photoshop to change the focus to a much narrower frame of reference. Doing so makes the image appear much further away in the shot than it actually is.
You may have already seen some examples of tilt shift photography without even realizing it. Joss Whedon’s TV show DOLLHOUSE uses tilt shift photography in its opening credit sequence, seen here:

Here is a new use for your old record albums: SLEEVEFACE.
All you have to do is take a picture of yourself holding a record album cover up to your head (or other, appropriate part of the body… although, since this site is called SleeveFACE, you would think that a focus on the face would be the way to go).
The goal in the photo is to mimic the body gesture, photo angle, and any significant clothing in the album cover to make the image on the album sleeve appear seamless with the person holding the album cover up.
This is just another example of a great idea for a website being made into a book topic. Who said that the Internet was going to make books obsolete?

The game is easy – look at the mugshot, then determine what the crime the person is being accused of. It’s fun for the whole family!
Here’s something for you to do at your next family reunion – you know all those old childhood photos that you have lying around the house or in some photo album buried somewhere?
Now that you have all the participants together again, why not try to recreate the photo in as close to place, pose, and outfits as you can.
