The Ideal Toolbox: WD-40 for things that should move, and duct tape for things that shouldn’t

Duct Tape and WD-40It has been said that the ideal toolbox will only contain two things:  WD-40 for things that should move, and a roll of duct tape for things that shouldn’t.

Web Watch would throw into that toolbox a hammer, a bundle of zipties, and a Leatherman.

All of these are the perfect tools to use to fix any situation, and

Halloween is over, so laugh at GOTHS IN HOT WEATHER

Goth BootsNow that Halloween is really over, Web Watch encourages everyone to take the time to laugh at those who still feel the need to rebel against society and dress in goth in their everyday lives during the most inopportune moment: in the heat of the day.

Everyone knows that dressing goth is best done in the cool of the night, preferably in the winter months when the extra layers provide appropriate protection from the weather.

Except for these folks – the GOTHS IN HOT WEATHER.

All the good book ideas are taken: F* This Website

F* THE WORLDWeb Watch never tires of pointing out all the websites that have been able to profit by turning their online diatribes into massive book deals. The only issue we have is that we didn’t think of any of these ideas first.

These deals do prove one thing – that while having a great Internet-based idea is fine, the real money is still in traditional media, whether it be in books, TV, or movies.  You’ve seen Will Ferrell’s FUNNY OR DIE website?  It has its own HBO production deal, because being online only apparently wasn’t good enough for them.

How To Troubleshoot Sprint’s Android Samsung Moment Phone’s USB Connection

USB developers guideA friend of Web Watch purchased the new Sprint Android phone, the Samsung Moment, when it was released the other day, and they were having a difficult time getting the phone to connect to their Windows-based computer via the supplied USB connector.

After spending countless hours on the phone with Sprint customer service and technical support (including an unusual interchange with not one – but two – Chinese-speaking technical support folks), debugging and reformatting multiple microSD cards, and downloading endless versions of device drivers and software from the Microsoft and Samsung websites, we finally stumbled upon the solution – which Web Watch will share with you, if only to help ease the burder that others may find if they too run across this extremely seemingly undocumented feature.

It costs HOW much per commercial on The Amazing Race? That’s a steal! (and other commercial pricing)

The Amazing RaceWeb Watch has a TiVo for one thing – to make watching television easier and more fun (unlike other folks who solely use TiVo or other DVRs to skip commercials).  We do admit that we skip commercials, but we’ll often go back to watch some of the ones that look more interesting… like movie trailers, or something new that hasn’t been seen before.

But it did get Web Watch wondering… HOW MUCH ARE THE NETWORKS CHARGING PER 30-SECOND AD IN PRIMETIME?

And now we know.  Let’s take a look at how much some of Web Watch’s current favorite shows are doing per 30-second spot:

Can you guess which song Neil Diamond absolutely refuses to sing?

Neil DiamondNeil Diamond is one singer who refuses to sing one song that he is quite famous for.  Name it. (Web Watch will post that song at the end of this post.)

In the meantime, here is a list of 10 BANDS AND THE SONGS THAT THEY REFUSE TO SING.

Why do they hate these songs so much?  Various reasons.  They could be bored with the song, not proud of having written it in the first place, or maybe it represents a time in their lives that is no longer relevant in today’s day.  Click the link to see the actual reasons given.
