Everything I Know I Learned from The Brady Bunch

Everybody knows the story….

…of a lovely lady.  Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.  All of them had hair of gold, like their mother.

The youngest one in curls.

The History of the Guitar Solo

Kids – no matter how much you’ll hate it now, you should take the time to learn a musical instrument.

Web Watch doesn’t care if it’s the piano, accordion, guitar, or marimba (heck, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots play music using plastic instruments, and that stuff sounds GOOD).  The key here is that you should be able to play something – anything.

The problem with fake service dogs

The other day, Web Watch was in a grocery store where we saw a woman with her chihuahua on a leash walking through the produce section.  The dog was wearing a “service dog vest”, indicating that this dog was specifically trained to assist the disabled in some manner.

And we’ve been seeing more and more of this.  Service dogs appear to be everywhere nowadays.  Have you seen this trend also?

How many times per day do you fart?

Everybody farts.

The question is, can you catch someone else in the act?  Look around the office – do you have a serial farter in your group?

Why not propose a game with your co-workers: whoever can fart the most without being caught wins the prize money.  It’s a game that everyone can play!

When it comes to crowdsourced reviews, which websites should you trust?

Whenever Web Watch wants to try a new restaurant in a new city, we turn to our online resources for hints and tips from the locals — because you should always eat where the locals eat.

Usually, the online reviews we find are relatively accurate.  In one place we ate at recently, the review said to avoid the paella.  We should have listened – it really wasn’t that good.

Which colleges have the best food, best cafeterias?

Web Watch can recall some good times eating at the college cafeteria.

From the unlimited double-cheeseburgers to the fresh scooped chocolate milkshakes (salad bar be damned!), the all-you-can-eat cafeteria was well worth the daily fee that the 21-meals a week program required.

Oh, there were some naysayers.  Some thought that they could eat better in their dorm room for $5 a day, cooking only with a hot pot and a down-the-hall microwave.  An in-room kitchenette?  A shared refrigerator?  These would be luxuries that were not available at the time.

Of course, today is different, and students are picking their colleges for their food as much as they are for their education.

Playboy’s List of Top Party Schools 2013

It’s that time of year again, when a young co-ed’s thoughts turn to partying down.

Over the years, Web Watch has shared with you PLAYBOY’S PARTY SCHOOLS list, but they typically are released in the Spring, when high school students are making their choices for where to attend school in the Fall.

This year, Playboy has decided to release their list in the Fall — probably to allow high school seniors a full year to consider where they would like to apply to over the coming months (and for incoming college freshmen to reconsider their collegiate choice, for at least one semester).
