Things people do in bed other than sleep

How much time do you spend in your bedroom, doing something other than sleeping?

A lot of studies have said that the bedroom shouldn’t be used for anything that’s not sleep-related, as it can slowly coach your body into thinking that it needs to be doing that other activity instead.  You know how some people can fall asleep instantly in the car?  Their bodies have acclimated themselves to equate “car” and “sleep”.   Doing work at home while in bed can lead to the same trouble… but in this case, it would be the inability to sleep.

Everybody dreams while sleeping.

The key is whether you can remember what you’ve dreamt or not.  Some dreams are awesome, some are nightmarish – but all reflect some aspect of the subconscious (whether buried deep or not).

And, if you’re like most people, you may find yourself wishing that you could revisit your dream state to finish out the story that was being unraveled while you slept.

Want to stay healthy? Stop sleeping with your pets

This year’s flu season seems to be a bit out of control, so everyone is looking for ways to stay as healthy as possible given the circumstances.

Some people are just working from home for weeks on end while the funk runs through their office co-workers.  Others are keeping their kids home from school or daycare for the same reason – which is a shock to everyone that there are people who will actually keep their kids out of school for illness reasons!

There’s the over-reliance on anti-bacterial products, using a tissue-wrapped pen to punch your ATM code into the machine, doing everything one can think of to avoid touching any potentially unclean surface that may be contaminated with another person’s germs.

Web Watch knows one couple who absolutely can’t sleep in the same bed, and purposefully have two twin beds in their master bedroom because each spouse’s sleeping style totally conflicts with the other’s.

However, a study by a sleep specialist at the University of Surrey says that the real problem with people having trouble sleeping is not necessarily any of those outside influences

Web Watch knows a number of people who have no problem encouraging their pets to sleep with them in their beds every night.  We’ve even seen our friends cuddle up with their dogs on the family room doggy bed to take a nap.  (We’ve seen the same people take a nap on doggy bed without their dog too, so maybe this isn’t such an unusual situation for them.)

But professors at the University of California-Davis school of veterinary medicine say that SLEEPING WITH YOUR PET MAY NOT BE AS GOOD FOR YOU AS YOU MAY THINK.
