Hungry? Why not have an insanewich (when a sandwich just isn’t enough)

SandwichSo it’s 2am and you’re really hungry.

Hungry for a killer sandwich, that is.  Because nothing else will do, and a standard sandwich – two pieces of bread with some meat and cheese slapped in between – just isn’t going to cut the mustard (no pun intended, of course).

That’s about the time that Web Watch heads over to INSANEWICH to check out the latest concoctions that they’ve come up with.

Was the buzz worth it? Ever wonder how many calories are in that caffeinated drink?

caffeine molecule shirtYou wake up every morning and wander down to the local Starbucks outlet and order yourself a double-shot half-mocha latte with extra whip, just to get yourself going.  You have a big day ahead, don’t you?

Everyone knows that if you cut back on those $4 fancy coffee drinks every day and brew your own, you’d save yourself about $1000 a year, give or take.

But what people aren’t talking about is how much fat you’re putting into your pants if you just take the drink and plop your ass into the office chair for the rest of the day.

If we learn just one thing today, it’s this: St Louis residents have NO style whatsoever

1000 Places to See Before You DieIf you travel a lot, then you probably have as many opinions about the places you visit as you have visited places.

But for those who don’t get to see the world for free, we have to rely on others to tell us what to believe.  TRAVEL + LEISURE magazine recently conducted a survey to determine AMERICA’S FAVORITE CITY.  So of course, Web Watch is braving the way to tell you exactly which of the 30 cities surveyed come out on top, and which ones (like St Louis) are floundering at the bottom.

Apparently, Michael Jackson and a Japanese pagoda have a lot in common

lookalikeHave you ever looked at someone and say to yourself, “boy, that sure does look familiar.  Where did we see that before?”

The website NAVER asks exactly that, by presenting a collection of THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE OTHER THINGS.

When will people learn what NOT to share on Facebook? Some things we just don’t want to know.

LAMEHere at Web Watch, we’ve already covered that 99% of what people post on Twitter or on Facebook is useless, lame fluff.  Sure, there are some good posts now and then that contain important information to those who follow along, but let’s face it – the general public really doesn’t have anything worthwhile to share with the rest of the world.

Today’s suggestion: look under your vehicle for penguins

Opus the PenguinA sign on the wall that says “Look under your vehicle for penguins” has to have some sort of backstory that the average person just wouldn’t know about.

Of course, these are the types of signs that Web Watch finds over at ODDLY SPECIFIC, a website devoted to capturing those signs around the world that are so specific on a topic that they become funny.

Things Google Knows About You: Everything

Google Search and DestroyGoogle knows a lot about you.

If you use Google to search the web, then Google knows what you are looking for.

If you use Google’s GMAIL service, then Google knows who your circle of friends and family are, and the types of things that you email about (based on the Ad Words displayed alongside your messages).

Google owns Doubleclick, a leader in online advertising, so Google knows some of the sites that you are visiting (unless you opt-out of the Doubleclick tracking cookie, of course).

If you are using their new open DNS server 8.8.8.8, then Google can even track where you go on the web, whether you use their search engine or not.  (An aside:  Web Watch strongly encourages that you do have a secondary DNS server available to you in case your primary DNS server goes down, whether it be Google’s DNS server or someone else’s open DNS.)

Want to cook like a professional chef? Set your TiVo on Dec 15 for “Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live”

Gordon Ramsay Kitchen NightmaresWeb Watch has enjoyed watching Gordon Ramsay yell at both potential and actual restaurant employees for years on HELL’S KITCHEN and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES, respectively.

And in the end, we wholeheartedly agree with the yelling, as he is yelling for good reason the majority of the time.  All Gordon wants is to bring out the best in people.

So while you may not agree with his methods, you can agree that when it comes to food he does know what he’s talking about.

Which is why FOX has decided to import yet another British series for Ramsay that shows a decidedly softer side of the typically angry chef in GORDON RAMSAY: COOKALONG LIVE, airing live on FOX on December 15th.
