Housework helps eliminate stress

Spring Cleaning time is here, so open up all your house windows and break out the Pine-Sol – it’s time to clean the house!

At least, that’s what a recent survey from professional cleaning folks STANLEY STEEMER say, as they’ve released results from their 2012 SPRING CLEANING SURVEY.

Children’s drawings reimagined into awesomeness

Are you one of those parents who look at your child’s crayon drawings and know exactly what it is that they drew?

Or do you just mumble something along the lines of, “Oh, that’s very nice, dear. Let me put this in the kitchen for everyone to see,” where you then casually and mistakenly throw it away?

Because really, are any child’s drawings really any good?  Coloring books don’t encourage creativity – all they do is stifle a child’s natural tendency to create something that they like.

Coloring between the lines is for followers, not leaders.

Only 15% of Americans avoid food poisoning by doing just one thing

Having food poisoning is not pretty, either for you or those around you.

Web Watch knows – the one time it hit us, we were trying to enjoy a group outing while on a trip away from home.  You’d be surprised how quickly getting that ill, that quickly will identify who your real traveling companions are (hint: that number is close to zero during that time period — when it comes to food poisoning, you’re going to be mainly on your own).

So what can you do to avoid getting food poisoning?

Unfortunately, the majority of food poisoning occurs while you’re away from home, eating at restaurants with poor health scores or who happened to receive tainted food themselves.

In other words, when you’re eating out, there’s not much you can do if someone serves you bad food that really, really disagrees with you.

The World’s Rudest Country

Web Watch does get out to travel once in a while, and we do our best to try to present ourselves as a courteous tourist on occasion.

Lord knows, cities around the world have opened up their doors to welcome Web Watch and we want to be invited back.  More times than we can count, our kindness to our hosts has been reciprocated back tenfold.

But there are places in this world where the residents look down on tourists with disdain.

“How much is my domain name worth?”

It’s a common question that Web Watch is often asked, and surprisingly comes up in more casual conversations than you may think one would experience in an average week.

4 Things Women Should NOT Do At Work

Over the years, Web Watch has worked for both male and female bosses.   And we would be the first to tell you that there are distinct differences between the managerial styles of both.

Some of them were very good at what they did; others, not quite so much.  And some of that we definitely can chalk up to the individual’s personalities.

But not always.

Sometimes, the individual was more of the “in it to win it” style of management. Take no prisoners, rule with a firm, but iron-clad fist.   And that was okay too.

And we’ve seen both men and women be taken down by their leadership skills (or lack thereof – again, depending on the person).

Traveling abroad? Don’t forget to pack your doorstop!

If you’re anything like Web Watch, you’ve done a fair amount of traveling over the years.

And with all that traveling, you may have found that you have specific habits or tricks of the trade that you’ve figured out along the way.

For us, it’s that we always have to travel with a fresh crossword puzzle and a pen.  The goal is to finish the crossword puzzle before the end of the flight.

Easy, right?   Sure, we have other oddities in our carry-on luggage:  a pair of dice being one of the more unusual items to have, but it goes along with the deck of cards.

You never know when you’re going to end up needing a deck of cards.
