This is the funniest thing you’ll read today

You’re about to read a very funny story.

It involves a plane, lots of business associates, and some very unfortunate timing.

All we can tell you is that THIS WILL BE THE FUNNIEST (albeit gross) STORY YOU’LL READ TODAY.

To tell you anything more would be ruining the joy of the storytelling.  Be sure to read it out loud at your next dinner party, it’s that entertaining.

The question for Web Watch readers is: what would you do if you found yourself in that same situation?  Leave your ideas and suggestions below…

Tales from the Office Bathroom: Office Bathroom Rules

The office bathroom, as Web Watch has pointed out many times before, can be a nasty place.

But, as life happens, so does having to use the office bathroom at some point during your work day.  (What, you’re going to go down the street to the McDonald’s?  No, you’re going to do your business in the more immediate area. You know you will.)

Worst argument for working in an office vs telecommuting, ever

Some people are lucky enough to WORK FROM HOME.  They think that just because they’re home all day, that really is like a vacation day and they can spend the entire time running errands or taking care of house projects under the guise of “working”.

Others take their telecommuting a bit more seriously, and end up working longer hours than their office-bound counterparts in order to retain the flexibility of maintaining a home office.

The best path to success is to drink beer AND coffee

When it comes to beverages, there are COFFEE PEOPLE and NON-COFFEE PEOPLE.

There are also people who LIKE BEER and those who HATE BEER.

Some parents have even gotten into the habit of lying to their children about coffee – telling them that you must be 16 years old before you could legally buy or drink coffee at all, putting coffee squarely into the “adult beverages” world that is usually exclusively assigned to alcohol.

How much is Johnny’s soul worth to the Devil?

We all know the lyrics to the song, DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA:

if you’d care to take a dare I’ll make a bet with you.
Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the Devil his due.
I’ll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul ’cause I think I’m better than you

So what the Devil is proposing in his offer is that Johnny (who plays pretty good fiddle, boy) has a soul that’s only worth a golden fiddle.

The question is, is Johnny getting ripped off a bit?

Building a global brand is the ultimate goal of any major business.

It’s one thing to be successful on a local or hyperlocal level.  It’s quite another feat to take that same local presence and expand that to a larger stage.  Many have succeeded, but even more have failed at doing so.

Why do people move?

Web Watch has always heard that in order to succeed at your career, you should always move whenever the company asked you to change locations.

And while that works for large-scale, across-the-country type stuff, Web Watch is fascinated by those people we know who just decide to move down the street for no real reason at all.  We know plenty of people who change apartments on a whim, or move within a mile or two of their current home just because they felt like it.

We also know people who bought a house next door to their childhood home, in order to stay close to their parents and friends in the local area.
