20 condiments that make every food taste better

Web Watch knows a girl who only eats chicken fingers, cheese, french fries, and ketchup.

Yeah, we know – it’s a little weird.  But she’s happy with it.

Asked her once what she would do if the world ever ran out of ketchup… and she wasn’t happy.  For her, ketchup makes the world go ’round.

Similarly, we have many friends who wouldn’t dream of eating watermelon without a little salt on it.  It’s their thing.

Dogs understand people more than you think

How well do you know your dog?

More importantly, how well does your dog know you?

Have you ever noticed that your dog does really well with sensory clues around them to react to?  Web Watch remembers a former pet we had that would sleep in the corner all night long… but the one time that we knowingly get up to go to the refrigerator for a snack, they would wake right up and follow us to the kitchen.

Every.  Single.  Time.

It’s like they knew something, sensed something about what we were doing – and acted upon it.

Turns out, our observation isn’t that far from the truth discovered by scientists.

There are 4 different cinnamons, 3 of them are fake, and tasters can’t tell the difference

A few years ago, Web Watch wrote about how ARTIFICIAL VANILLA CONTAINS COAL TAR.

It ends up that there are many different artificial food products that contain ingredients that we may or may not know about.

Take, for example, the simple cinnamon stick.

Did you know that there really are three different products that are commonly sold as “cinnamon sticks”?

Did you know that only one of them is actually really considered “cinnamon”?

Only 15% of Americans avoid food poisoning by doing just one thing

Having food poisoning is not pretty, either for you or those around you.

Web Watch knows – the one time it hit us, we were trying to enjoy a group outing while on a trip away from home.  You’d be surprised how quickly getting that ill, that quickly will identify who your real traveling companions are (hint: that number is close to zero during that time period — when it comes to food poisoning, you’re going to be mainly on your own).

So what can you do to avoid getting food poisoning?

Unfortunately, the majority of food poisoning occurs while you’re away from home, eating at restaurants with poor health scores or who happened to receive tainted food themselves.

In other words, when you’re eating out, there’s not much you can do if someone serves you bad food that really, really disagrees with you.

The Roommate from Hell

Web Watch agrees that this type of thing can happen to anyone.

Everybody has some odd roommate story that they can share.  We went through 6 months of one roommate never doing their own laundry.

What?

Yeah, it’s true.  Many years back, we shared an apartment with two guys… and one of them, apparently, didn’t have any socks of his own.  He would “borrow” socks from Web Watch (we shudder to think if he was “borrowing” underpants from our other roommate), and then toss the dirtys into the appropriate hamper for the unsuspecting soul to wash on laundry day.

For a while, Web Watch could never understand why we were always running out of clean socks ahead of where we thought we would be in the laundry cycle.   Sure, we figured it out – but by then, it was too late.  A use pattern had set in.

Luckily, we were able to kick him out – and laundry returned to normal levels.

The 5 Grossest Foods You’re Eating RIGHT NOW

Web Watch isn’t the best to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be eating, most likely because we would never listen to a thing we say about this (“do as we say, not as we do” doesn’t apply to us, it seems).

But our good friends over at EAT THIS, NOT THAT have come up with a list of the FIVE GROSSEST THINGS YOU’RE EATING that will probably make you think again about the crap that you’re putting into your body every day.

Most people can’t tell the difference between a $5 and $50 bottle of wine

Web Watch learned the hard way how to appreciate wine.

For years, we avoided wine like the plague – preferring vodka, beer, or other alcoholic alternatives to all types of wine.  We just didn’t enjoy it as much as we were told we should.

Then one day, we received a $125 bottle of wine as a gift.

That is when our opinion on wine changed dramatically.

The 2012 Top Earning Nightclubs in the Country

When you go out to the club, are all eyes on you?

Are you with the Party Rock Crew, where all drinks are free?

Well, to run a successful nightclub – you can’t make a habit from giving your drinks away to just anybody.  Handing them out for free to Web Watch?  Sure – that’s to be expected – but not everyone can get away with that like we can.

Still, when you’re making millions upon millions of dollars a year on $500 bottle service, it’s okay to throw out a free drink on occasion.  Grease the celebrity wheels, if you will.
