How to tell if you’re raising a spoiled brat? It’s all about where you live

How much do you spend on your child at Christmas or for their birthday?

Are you one of those parents that believe that their child is extra-special and deserves to be given everything they ever could possibly ask for?

Or are you a parent whose philosophy is more along the lines of being sure to offer your children a choice, such as “would you like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… or a spanking?”  You know, because letting children make their own decisions is so important in encouraging a child’s self-worth and well-being.

Are you a roadkill killer? Chances are – yes, yes you are.

Web Watch sees it every day.

Animal carcasses by the side of the road.  Usually it’s a skunk or an opposum.

Sometimes a raccoon.  Occasionally a rabbit.  Wild animals that just don’t know how to cross a road safely (which may explain why we never see a chicken at the side of the road — apparently, chickens know how to cross the road).

Once in a while we see a deer.

We even saw a dead moose once.  No idea how the car that hit that monstrosity survived.

60% of web surfing is done via a mobile device

Do you have an iPad, Android tablet, or netbook?  Are you glued to your iPhone, Android device, or Blackberry?

Web Watch is going to take a wild guess that you’re not just using those devices for making phone calls or using them exclusively for business.

Everything your date knows about you, he learned from your dog

They say that the best way to meet someone is to take your dog for a walk at the park.

Or borrow a friend’s dog, and take the dog for a walk at the park.

Or hang out at the Humane Society, taking the puppies out for a walk at the park.

(See the trend here, folks?)

The secret – obviously – is to get a dog, and let that be your way to introduce yourself to the ladies or the guys.  Who can resist puppies?

Things we learned from watching The Twilight Zone

If you’re like Web Watch, then you grew up watching the creepy black-and-white Rod Serling-hosted TV series, THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Maybe you’ve even played the classic 1993 Twilight Zone pinball machine, or rode the TWILIGHT ZONE TOWER OF TERROR at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park…. and still have absolutely no idea about the impact that the original TV series had on America’s psyche at the time the show was on the air.

If you aren’t already familiar with the TV show, there’s no need to read any further.  But, if you’re a fan… then read on.

How much does it cost to clean up vomit?

Cab drivers don’t have an easy life.

For one things, we’ve always been told “never get into a car with a stranger”, and yet when it comes to riding in a cab — that’s exactly what we’re doing.  Odd that this is typically the very first thing that we end up doing when we visit a new city.  Who are these people? Where are they taking us? Are they ripping us off in doing so?

But don’t let a few bad apple cab drivers ruin the experience for everyone. 99% of all cab drivers out there are just good ol’ working folk, trying to make a living.

Do you prefer to work alone? There’s a job for you out there…

Do you consider yourself a “people person”, or do you prefer to spend your working time alone – whether because you can get more done when you’re working by yourself or for some other, personal reason?

Some people just don’t do well working in groups.  “Plays well with others” doesn’t apply to you.

Name something you should have on your desk at work

Web Watch knows that not everyone has a standard “desk” job in an office.

You know – the one where you may be sitting in a cubical farm or an actual office (with a door), where you and your co-workers all get together to generate some sort of product for your company.

Some office managers frown upon personalizing one’s workspace, while companies like Pixar go out of their way to encourage as much creativity as possible (one Pixar employee build a speakeasy in the back of his cubicle area, complete with secret hidden entrance!).
