Web Watch is always careful when we visit with our friends who have small children to watch our language. After all, it’s common courtesy to not recite George Carlin’s list of Dirty Words in front of those who are too young to appreciate the nuance of language, or who may be offended overall by hearing words in polite company that would be later yelled out the car window at the a-hole who just cut you off in traffic.
But it may end up that Web Watch has been overly cautious. While we don’t want to be the ones who introduces foul language to our friends’ children, it may be that the deed has already been done long before we showed up for the pot-luck.

There are a few rules to what you submit, such as “factually accurate”, “not based on entirely on Wikipedia”, and the common “give credit to your sources” items — but if you truly did learn something interesting today, why not take the opportunity to write about what you now know?
A while back, Web Watch wrote about the UNDERWEAR ECONOMIC INDEX, the theory being that people buy more underwear when they feel that the economy is doing well – and that people will make do with their existing underpants when the economy is doing poorly.
Based on that piece of stellar reporting, Web Watch is confident in saying that WAL-MART BELIEVES THE ECONOMY IS GROWING, as WAL-MART CEO BILL SIMON PREDICTS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON TO BE FILLED WITH UNDERWEAR AND SOCK PURCHASES for adults.

Now that it’s back-to-school time again, Web Watch would like to take a look at what SCHOOLS ARE BANNING FROM THE LUNCH ROOM:

Now, Web Watch doesn’t want to get into the whole debate regarding former Arizona congressman J.D. Competitive eating is not everything you may think it is. It’s not all glory on the playing field, and unless you really want to devote your life to travelling around the country in order to eat yourself silly, there really isn’t enough money to be made in eating contests to call being a “Professional Eater” a full-time career.
One has to wonder if the lack of cost-of-living raises is one of the reasons that Takeru Kobayashi, the former World Champion Hot Dog Eater, refused to sign a contract with the IFOCE and ended up rushing the stage at this year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
And considering the amount of effort that the IFOCE and ESPN put into making the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and its world-famous Mustard Yellow Belt a cultural lynchpin in our annual July 4th festivities, it’s really surprising that the NATHAN’S CONTEST WAS NOT THE COMPETITIVE EATING CONTEST WITH THE MOST PRIZE MONEY over the past year.
