Decorating the office with Post-It Notes

Post-it Notes
Post-it Notes

When non-destructive, office pranks can be fun.

Filling up somebody’s cubical or office with inflated balloons?  Fun.  Filling up somebody’s cubical or office with Silly String?  A little bit of a mess to clean-up, and usually left to the victim to do so on their own.

Web Watch has even covered an entire office’s items in tin foil and wrapping paper.  Definitely time-consuming and an absolute waste of money, but entertaining.   The best one we did was sheetrocking over the boss’s office door and painting the wall so it looked like the office was never there in the first place.  Oh, we’re still laughing about that one.

But sometimes it’s nice to include others in your office shenanigans.

Need to make some fast cash but don’t know what to do? Try some of these legitimate options

One thing that successful people have going for them is that they’re always hustling, always striving to make that next dollar.

Or, when looked at from a more practical viewpoint: as Dave Ramsay often says, “you don’t have an debt problem, you have an income problem”. In other words, you can make ends meet – but you need to get off your fat butt and take on a second or third weekly paycheck in addition to your primary job.

Make your own Customized Crayola Crayon Box

Crayola Crayon 6464-crayon Crayolas

There is a hierarchy of crayons in school.

The average child starts out with the standard 8-color box of Crayola crayons.  Web Watch is quite fond of this one, as we never really got past the fact that there are different color Reds and Blues in today’s world. To us, it’s either “red” or “blue”, with none of those various shades.

As you got older, you would get the 16 or 24-count box of Crayolas.

Eventually, you’d be lucky enough to get the holy grail: the famed 64-count box of Crayola Crayons with the built-in sharpener in the box.

Eventually, even that was too boring, and Crayola came out with the 128-count box. Yeah, those kids were living the good life.  They may not have been able to draw worth a darn, but they had all the tools available if they tried.

Take a look behind the scenes of some classic films

Who doesn’t love to see how movie magic is made behind the scenes?

Web Watch has wandered a few movie and television sets of our own, and are constantly surprised at how simple and poorly-constructed some of the sets and facades are when seen in person and up-close.  They don’t call it “movie magic” for nothing.

Give Me Back My Five Bucks: a personal finance guide for young adults

From Ramen to Riches: Building Wealth in Your 20s:
Or Spending, Saving, Investing and Managing Your Money to Get Rich Slowly, but Surely

If there’s one piece of advice that Web Watch is always trying to give to our younger acquaintances, it’s that it’s always better in the long run to save as much money as you can for the future.  A while back, we recommended to try to have $10000 in the bank by the time you’re 30 years old, and that’s still a good rule of thumb to live by (call it your “emergency fund”, it still represents about 3-to-6 months take home pay for the average young adult that financial experts recommend keeping available for emergency purposes).

And Krystal felt the same way when she found herself a 20-something with over $20,000 in debt that she decided she wanted to get rid of.  It was an albatross keeping her from future successes.

When we last visited this topic a few years ago, Web Watch proclaimed that AUGUST 23rd was National Go Topless Day.

Apparently, Aug 23 is merely a suggestion.  This year’s National Go Topless Day is August 21st.

10 Rules for Walking on the Sidewalk (stop, move, or get out of our way!)

Where the Sidewalk Ends
Where the Sidewalk Ends

Web Watch has worked in New York City.  We’ve fought the crowds there, and frankly — rush hour there is absolutely everything you think it would be.

It’s crowded, it’s smelly – and the successful NYC commuters all have this “look”.  The “don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, I’m not looking at you, get out of my way” look.  Nobody is stopping to smell the roses or window shop or take a look around them at what some call the Most Amazing City In The World.

Nope, they’re too busy making sure that they don’t run into those tourists who wander New York City with their mouths agape, staring up at the tall buildings while they fumble their Kodak Instamatic disposable camera from their safe-and-secure fanny pack.
