How much are aluminum soda pull tabs worth?

Maybe you’ve seen a cardboard box for the Ronald McDonald House in your breakroom.

Maybe you’ve been told by your neighbor’s kid that there’s the same amount of money in this part compared to the entire rest of the trash you’re throwing out.

What if we told you that you’re basically wasting your time?

The latest sport craze? Competitive Endurance Tickling

New sports come and go.

Remember that Trampoline-Basketball hybrid that was filmed at Universal Studios a while back? It never really caught on.

The most popular sports, you see, are ones that people can watch the pros play on TV (golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, football) and then later get together with their friends and play themselves.

Lacrosse hasn’t really caught on with the mainstream, but its getting there.

What do you call carbonated beverages: “Coke”, “Pop”, “Soda”?

When you’re traveling around the country and you pull into the local diner, how do you answer when the waitress asks you if you’d like a Coke?

Do you assume that she’s asking you if you actually would like a Coca-Cola product, or do you think she’s referring to any beverage generically as “Coke”?  For some, a pop is a soda. For others, a soda is a pop.

What is your favorite number? (Don’t tell us, we already know)

There’s a reason that magicians and casinos both can fool you and take your money.

It’s all about the math.  The probability.  The statistics.

It’s about identifying the key common trait that everybody has, but is afraid to admit.  If a magician asks you to pick a card, which card do you always pick?  Do you think of one card, and then immediately switch to some other card (saying to yourself, “aha! they wanted me to pick that first card that came to my head, but I’ll show them”)…. only to find yourself at the end looking directly at the magician presenting you with The Card You Picked!?!?:!

It’s not always luck.

Quiz: Which Dewey Decimal System Category are YOU?

The library card catalog is an ancient system.

Remember back when you had to flip through drawer after drawer of cards, sorted by category, author, or title to figure out where on the shelf stacks the book you wanted might be, and then you had to run off to the stacks to find it?

Oh, the good old days of alphabetizing without a computer.

Would you buy Thomasville Furniture from the Back of a Truck?

Talking with some friends over lunch, they told us about a strange thing that happened to them at home the other night.

They were at home making dinner, when there was an unexpected knock on the door.  Outside, was a tractor trailer with the doors open wide. The side of the truck indicated that it was from Thomasville, North Carolina – home of some of the best furniture outlets around.

“We’re from Thomasville,” the man at the door said.  “Would you like to buy some of our furniture?”
