Where do Ticket Scalpers Get Their Tickets?

Nine Inch Nails’ lead singer Trent Reznor has not been shy in the past about airing his opinion about other musicians or the music industry in general.  More often than not, he’s been the one willing to talk about the elephant in the room that everyone else ignores.

So it should come as no surprise to anyone – let alone Nine Inch Nails fans – when TRENT POSTED A MESSAGE ON THE OFFICIAL NINE INCH NAILS MESSAGE BOARD explaining exactly what happens when NIN goes on tour with regards to what they do to minimize ticket scalping.  As part of Trent’s post, he includes a number of links to ticket scalping-related news articles that offer additional insight to the problem.

It’s refreshing to hear a band’s opinion of the whole mess. Here’s what Trent has to say about how the whole thing works:

SideTaker.com – Whose Side are You On?

You know why those weekday afternoon television judge shows are so popular?  Because everybody likes to hear other people’s dirty laundry and then voice an opinion on it by yelling at the TV.

Of course, yelling at the TV doesn’t effect the outcome of the situation.

So if you are looking for a place where you can hear an argument and take a side, you’ll want to check out SIDETAKER

If you are having an argument with someone and just can’t come to an amicable agreement, why not take your case to the Internet and have other people decide who is right and who is wrong.

Some of the questions that are posed are relatively benign:

The Human Litterbox Bet

I do not know anyone who would be willing to take this bet.  It certainly would make for an interesting end to March Madness tournament betting, especially for those who are always looking for the ultimate bet payoff with one’s friends:  THE HUMAN LITTERBOX.

All the loser has to do is use a cat litterbox for a week instead of the toilet.

Sure, you’d have to figure out what to do about using the facilities at the workplace, but that could be easily arranged as litterboxes are fairly portable.  What could possibly go wrong with this idea?

Apparently, this is not a new concept.  Cats are writing advice columns on how to deal with messy humans, and Half-Bakery even has a suggestion on using kitty litter as a way to keep your bathroom clean between scrubs…and they’ve done the math in how humans and cats differ in pee volume.

I know what you’re thinking – someone did think that there was a practical reason to poop in a cat box.  GEM718 asked Yahoo Questions the following: “Can I Poop in My Cat’s Litter Box to Train her to Do So?  My kitten is 5 weeks old, and she just will NOT use her litter box. I needed to know if I were to take a dump in her litter box, would she get the idea?”

You’re just going to have to click the link to see the answer for yourself.

Legacy Locker – In Case of Emergency

A friend of mine recently visited his parents and they had “the talk” with him.

The Talk consisted of who the accountant was, what the lawyer’s contact info was, where copies of all the Important Documents were, and so on. Just In Case something were to happen.

The parents were thorough – every month they sent a CD backup to the safe deposit box with electronic copies of vital accounts, usernames, and passwords that would be needed In Case Of Emergency.

LEGACY LOCKER is a bit like that emergency backup CD, except that all that important information is stored online.  Their marketing material says that “Legacy Locker is a safe, secure repository for your digital property that lets you grant access to online assets for friends and loved ones in the event of death or disability.”

Michael Jackson Auction Update

Remember the post we had a while ago about the upcoming MICHAEL JACKSON AUCTION?

The AP is reporting that maybe things aren’t exactly as rosy as they appear, and the auction may not happen after all, as Michael Jackson’s production company, MJJ Productions, is suing Julien’s Auction House.

The lawsuit claims that while they did ask the auction company to remove all those items that appear in the auction catalog from the Neverland Ranch, but claims that they did not give blanket authorization to sell the items without Michael Jackson’s permission on each one.

Some of the “priceless and irreplaceable” items were requested to be returned, which the auction company did.  No word yet on exactly which items are being removed from the auction due to the lawsuit, or how much of the auction is going to continue as previously planned.
